Radio Frequency Skin Tightening

Radio Frequency Skin Tightening

No matter how well you care for your skin, the effects of gravity and other factors are bound to take their toll eventually. You might look in the mirror one day, and notice jowls are starting to form along the jawline, or there are lines on the neck that weren’t there before. You might be looking more tired than you feel as skin loses its elasticity and starts to move downward. Those changes are a sign it’s time to take action, with non-surgical skin tightening that reverses those effects and creates smoother, firmer skin.

What is Sublime and How does it Work?

Dr. Chilcott and the skin specialists at Morpheus Medical Aesthetics use Sublime facial contouring to reverse the effects of gravity. This revolutionary device stimulates the production of collagen and elastin within the dermal structure, which tightens skin and creates a refreshed appearance. Sublime can be used on any area of the face, including the delicate tissue around the eyes and eyelids. The neck, which is frequently subjected to changes like wrinkling and loose skin, can also be treated with this no-downtime procedure with effective lifting and tightening.

Sublime combines bi-polar radiofrequency with light energies to precisely heat the dermal tissue. The heating action stimulates collagen and elastin production within the treatment area, firming skin and improving skin quality overall. The result is a smoother, more lifted appearance, fully rejuvenated to match your inner youth and vibrancy.

Sublime is a non-invasive, safe and effective way to achieve deep dermal remodeling for natural, beautiful results. The procedure is designed to be performed in a series of sessions, and patients typically see gradual and cumulative effects throughout the treatment program. Although it is rare to see significant change after a single treatment, a series of four treatments produce a noticeable improvement in nearly all our patients.

Who is a Good Candidate for the Sublime Treatment?

Sublime is an excellent option for patients that have noticed loose, sagging skin in any of the following areas:

  • Drooping brow line and sagging eyelids
  • Hollowed midface with loss of definition
  • Jowl formation along the jawline
  • Lines and looseness around the neck
  • Loose upper arm skin (bat wings)
  • Lax abdominal skin, common after pregnancy or weight loss
  • Drooping buttocks and sagging thighs
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Uneven skin texture

While Sublime is safe and non-invasive, it is not appropriate for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Devices that utilize radiofrequency energy also should not be used on patients with a pacemaker or metal implants. Other medical conditions could also be a contraindication, but we will take a full medical history and discuss potential concerns before your treatment to ensure Sublime will be both safe and effective for you.

What to Expect During Treatment

Because Sublime is a non-invasive, relatively comfortable treatment, most patients do not require any numbing before their session. You will be given a pair of goggles to wear during the procedure to protect your eyes from the laser light. The handheld applicator will be moved across the treatment area as you recline in a relaxing position. You can even listen to music or a podcast throughout your appointment if you like.

The duration of your treatment will vary based on the size and number of treatment areas you have addressed. Once the process is completed, you can apply makeup and return to your daily routine immediately, with little or no indications you just had a cosmetic procedure performed.

What to Expect After Treatment

You will likely experience a bit of skin redness after your procedure, which could subside even before you leave our office. In most cases, the redness won’t persist beyond a couple of hours. Mild swelling of the treatment area is also common and may continue for up to a week or longer. Blanching or skin whiteness is another potential side effect that is usually gone within 24 hours. None of the side effects should be severe enough to keep you from all your usual activities.

How Long Does Sublime Last?

It takes time to see the positive results of your Sublime treatments, as the additional production of collagen and elastin creates gradual improvements. Some patients see positive results after a single session, but it is more common to notice the enhancements after a series of four treatments, spaced about one month apart. We offer a discounted package to make it affordable for our patients to enjoy the full benefits of this treatment. Once you achieve those results, you can maintain them with a touch-up procedure once or twice a year.
