At Morpheus Medical Aesthetics, we want to make you look and feel healthy, and we know that often begins on the inside. The suite of Spectracell wellness evaluations gives us a better look at what’s going on inside your body so that we can optimize your overall wellbeing.
We already know that good nutrition plays a role in overall wellness, but what about helping to manage the aging process? Scientific evidence shows us that analyzing the white blood cells gives us the most accurate analysis of how well micronutrients function in the body, rather than simply measuring blood serum levels of these nutrients. Testing measures antioxidant capacity and immune system function which attributes to the body's defense and regenerative ability. Evaluation measures the function of 35 nutritional components, including vitamins, antioxidants, minerals and amino acids.
Lab results include an overview page with all deficiencies listed, numeric and graphic reports easily identifying deficiencies and repletion and supplementation recommendations. Deficiencies have been shown to affect the function of the immune system which can contribute to degenerative processes such as arthritis.
Your metabolic rate, or your metabolism, can slow down due to a number of factors, including aging, stress and diet. The Spectracell CardioMetabolic panel measures personal chemistry to assist in maintaining a healthy metabolic profile, including glycemic control, lipid profile and vascular inflammation.
Hormone & Thyroid Testing
Comprehensive male and female hormone panels reveal the overall state of hormonal balance. Hormones influence all aspects of health and disease: mood, sleep, metabolism, immunity, heart health and appearance. Because an imbalance of one hormone can alter the status of others, a comprehensive look at hormone status is key.
Thyroid hormones affect functions such as your metabolism, emotions and thinking. Proteins that affect thyroid function are also checked as well as antibodies which can detect autoimmunity and cortisol (the stress hormone) levels.
Spectracell provides the following range of beneficial genetics tests:
- Telomere: Determines how quickly a patient is aging and assists in creating a personal plan to slow the aging process.
- Apolipoprotein E: Helps to determine treatment strategies for decreasing the risk of cardiovascular disease.
- MTHFR (Methylenetetrahydrofolate Reductase): Assists in developing dietary and medical recommendations and determining risks of developing illness or complications.
- Factor V Leiden & Prothrombin: Genotyping indicates whether a person has an increased likelihood of forming blood clots (thrombosis). Presence of either gene increases the chance of deep vein thrombosis, and may also provide useful information on heart attack risk.
