Post Treatment Regimen
When injected into submental or "double-chin" fat, Kybella’s active component, deoxycholic acid, dissolves the fat cell membrane and the fat cells are carried out of the body as waste. This is an alternative to liposuction with minimal downtime. The procedure takes as little as 15-30 minutes -- including topical numbing (if desired).
Many clients experience visible results in 2 to 6 treatment sessions spaced at least one month apart.
The treatment is well suited to the majority of clients but is not advised for everyone. Clients with excessive skin laxity, prominent platysmal bands or other conditions for which reduction of submental fat could result in an aesthetically undesirable outcome are not good candidates.
You will require a consultation assessment prior to being considered for Kybella. There are potential side effects with any injection. Common and expected side effects include post treatment swelling, bruising, temporary pain and numbness in the treated area. You may resume your regular activities after the treatment. Swelling may take up to 7 days to resolve.
Cost: $700 per 2mL vial (up to 2 vials are used at each treatment depending on your surface area and fat thickness)
